Finding the Universal Answer

I was asked the following question in class recently:

“Oftentimes I feel like I have a question. Before I ask, you already answered it. I wonder, how is that possible? How does that happen mechanically?”

Watch the following video for my response.

  1. Even though I was in class, watching the video made me feel as if I heard it for the first time. I imagine that it would be good to listen or watch again every now and then.

  2. It’s so wonderful how Dr. Mamas works with our awareness. He loosens up our gears so we can function from that place where everything is interconnected.

  3. Cool!

  4. Sure you’re not just projecting similarly. Like struggling to find basic trust, true faith together or something?

  5. Hello Brian,
It is a good question. Here are a couple of points to consider:
Firstly, we tend to have a world view that we project on any situation and define that situation accordingly. We all do well to consider how we might be doing that. Deciding how other people are doing that is easy and common. Beginning to understand how we might be doing that is rare and precious.
Secondly, the more the experience of what is described above becomes ones own experience, the more it is understood. The less it is experienced, the more easily it can be rational-ized away.
Your question is very good, and can be the gateway to more insight or more judgement. We each choose the nature of our own relationship with everything. That choice is not so much a conscious decision as it is a state of psychological and emotional perspective. As Adi Shankara said, “The spiritual path is the path of discernment”.
