During the Kumbhabhishekam celebration I was surprised and greatly humbled to be given the title of Brahmarshi (alternate spelling “Brahmarishi)”.

I had no idea this was going to happen until I was informed only a couple of days prior. I have respect beyond words for the priests and pandits of India who have given this to me. I will do my utmost to uphold the Vedic Holy Tradition.

A Rishi is a seer…. one who sees the truth of life, the foundation of existence and the mechanics of its manifestation in life.
~
A Maharishi is a great seer… one with the gift of being able to reveal that knowledge to others. This of course transcends simple intellectual understanding. It is to cultivate a physiology that embodies the Knowledge.
~
A Brahmarishi is a Maharishi who furthermore has a Brahman nervous system, i.e. a physiology the nature of which is to be with the Knowledge of Veda. I am humbled.

The full title I was given is Brahmarshi Maheshananda. I will only use that on formal occasions. Mahesh is a name of Lord Shiva. Ananda means bliss. The Maheshananda means bliss of Lord Shiva, or one who is loved by Shiva. I am speechless and, again, deeply humbled.

I am a simple man. I never had any aspiration for titles or recognition. My sole purpose has been to help people… to give Knowledge to others, to purify in the tradition of Adi Shankara current understanding of eternal wisdom. It is out of deep respect for the tradition that I humbly embrace the title.

All here at Mount Soma are slowly getting accustomed to addressing me as Brahmarshi. I can assure you that it is more of an adjustment for me than anyone else.
It would help us out tremendously if those of you who are coming, but have not yet RSVP’d, would please do so right away.

Also we need a headcount for meals so the caterers can plan their days. Please fill out this Questionnaire by APRIL 30. Meals are a suggested donation of $5.00 for breakfast and $10 for Lunch and Dinner.

These forms are very short and easy to fill out.

Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to sharing this wonderful event with you!
The Temple is incredible. I have seen larger temples, but I have never seen a more beautiful one. Also, the feeling of it, even from the distance is astounding. Very powerful and it is not even being used yet!

Pundit Prasad and his wife Lakshmi Anasuya have arrived from India. He is a very highly respected priest. I am giving them a couple days to rest before I visit with them for the first time.

We are planning to keep the stapathi and shilpis on for an additional month or so after the inauguration to build a Maha Nandi (great/huge Nandi) statue directly across from the temple. It will be located in the area of the first Havan Kund (fire pit) that we used for homas while many of you were here in 2008. The priests loved the idea of the Nandi. He will be an awesome sight and will certainly amp things up.

It is so much fun to see everyone every day at the Center. More and more people are joining the ashram program. It is a great delight for me. I love it. People are really moving forward. Evolution is not always the easiest thing for people, but the underlying current of growth supporting and feeding their lives is palpable and so nurturing to their being. Wonderful!

The Student Union building is nearing completion. At the rate things are going, we will need another building for housing as soon as it is completed!

We are getting a cow and calf today and are all excited about it. People here are having fun constructing the barn for them. What a joy it will be to see them each day.

Life is more than good here. It is fantastic. I look forward to every day.

There is nothing more fulfilling than rapid evolution.
