It has been twenty years now that I have been teaching principles such as mapping, the mechanics through which everything in life and existence is interconnected.
I originally started my school to teach healing. However, it quickly became evident that my methods of healing could not be conveyed unless deep and abstract principles of life were evident to the student. To teach healing was to teach profound spiritual principles. Few were willing to go that deep. They wanted simple step-by-step techniques… a sort of paint by numbers or cookbook approach to healing. Healing is life – profound, vast, far reaching, intricate, yet rooted in the one and only absolute truth that underlies all existence.
For years I spoke of the personified aspect of all things… a river valley, a mountain, any and every aspect of human physiology. I spoke of how those fundamental principles permeate all levels and aspects of existence, the operators of existence.
The language of existence is personified in nature – the Grahas, the Gods, etc. No other language can sing the song of life, lest it’s meaning fall far short of full eloquent expression.
I originally intended this blog to address specifically the universal principle of the serpent. How snakes map through all levels of existence. I trust that what I have said here, combined with what follows from Pandit Prasad and Lakshmi, will attain that objective. It is up to you to connect the dots. That is done in one and only one place… namely, within you. Are you willing to go there? Though all long to go, few are willing. In order to see, you have to be willing to look.
Before and/or after pujas and homas here at Mount Soma, we like to briefly discuss the mechanics of creation in terms of the Deity we will be addressing. The following emerged from one such discussion after a lovely Karthideya puja. Ever deepening is our understanding of the Divine.
From Pandit Prasad and Lakshmi:
Nadis are a network of subtle channels. According to Shivasamhitha (ancient scriptures), there are 14 principal nadis. Of these, the ida, pingala, and sushumna are most important.
Ida is the left channel originating in mooladhara (1st chakra) and ends at the top of the left nostril. Ida is Valli, Karthikeya’s wife.
Pingala is the right channel that also originates in mooladhara and ends at the top of the right nostril. Pingala is Devasena, Karthikeya’s other wife.
Sushumna is the central channel (the straight line going up the spine, like a serpent). It starts just below the mooladhara chakra and it goes through the third eye, touching both the ida and pingala, and reaches the sahasrara (7th chakra). Sushumna is Karthikeya and looks like a snake. According to Vedic scriptures, Karthikeya (Subrahmanya) is the snake god. Those who carry the curse of the snake should awaken the nadis (in other words, meditate, worship Karthikeya).
These three nadis play a vital role in kundalini yoga. The first step of kundalini yoga is the purification of nadis. We purify them by performing the Karthikeya puja and of course, meditation.
In another sense, if we look at our physiology, each nerve looks like a snake. Also, in regard to reproduction, sperm looks like a snake. Even when the sperm attaches to the ovum, it still looks like a small snake for the first month. This is why Karthikeya is the one to worship for fertility and family.

There are different types of mantras.
~
Mantras referred to as ‘Vedic Mantras’ can be fine to listen to but they should only be chanted by priests.
~
I know that a number of you have been given Vedic mantras (which is fine) but I have come to learn that a number of you are chanting them. If you even suspect that you are in that category, please submit your mantras to be reviewed.
~
If Pandit Prasad gave you a mantra and you are using it as directed by him, there is no need for review unless you are unsure of how to use or pronounce it. Ram or TM meditation mantras also do not need to be reviewed.
~
ANY OTHER MANTRA should be reviewed regardless of who gave it to you or whether or not I have ‘charged’ it for you. Just because I have charged it, does not necessarily mean you are using it properly. The Maha Mitrunjaya Mantra is one example of a Vedic Mantra.
~
We will be offering this service until July 15 after which time all submissions will be reviewed. PLEASE take advantage of this opportunity.

I received the following email…
~
SHRI PARVATHI PARAMESWARA PARABRHAMANE NAMAHA.
I am from Chennai, Tamil Nadu (India). I came to know about your global spiritual enrichment seva (service) through an english daily (The Indian Express).
~
I am really elated to hear and see a great spiritual endeavor being taken up by you Americans. At the same time I would like to emphasis the fact that many in our country (young aged people) really do not understand the value of our religion and the eternal Vedas.
~
The main reason behind this is that due to modernization many of the BRAHMINS have withered away from their foremost duty of reciting Vedas and making it their life, including me. Many of them are software engineers and working for American projects.
~
Let your initiative bring the glory back which is intangible (Realized only by those who really deserve it) and show these Indians the true value of Vedas.
~
I will pray to the lord for your worldly spiritual cause to succeed in an eternal way.
~
To which I responded:
~
Kind Sir,
~
Your message has touched my heart.
~
I am very grateful for your support. I am fully dedicated to bringing about cultural integrity for India, the land of the Veda.
~
What you say is quite correct. Not only does the world not understand the exquisite jewel that India is, even many of the youth of India do not. It is my intention to change that.
~
I believe I was born, this lifetime, as an American for a reason. I know well the modality of modern and scientific thought. This is the language the world, including India, has learned to speak and believe in.
~
By speaking in the terms of their language, I can guide those people to see beyond the limits of that language, while not turning their back on what it does have to offer.
~
This is indeed Kali Yuga. Together, may we bring about an Age of Sat Yuga in it’s midst.
~
Jai Shiva Shankara,
~
Brahmarshi

Two Boxes or Three?
~
Imagine a giant diamond… so large that you can put your whole face against each facet and look inside to see the entire diamond from within.
~
Such a view through each facet gives a unique perspective on the same one diamond.
~
Through each facet, the entire diamond is seen in terms of that facet. It is all about the view in terms of that facet. That facet is everything. Nothing is greater than that angle of perception.
~
This explains why devotees of one God or another see their God as the only truth and greatest God. And they are correct.
~
Simultaneously valid, yet contradictory realities, is the structure of the universe.
~
This is why each Purana states that that deity is the greatest and the source of all the others. They are all right.
~
They only appear to contradict.

Having Pundit Prasad and his wife, Lakshmi Anasuya, here at Mount Soma is wonderful. It feels like two long lost friends have finally returned.
~
Being from a very different culture than ours, they seem to have adapted with incredible ease. Pundit Prasad has performed a Rudrabishek and with Navaratri coming up Monday, a number of ceremonies will soon be taking place. Check the CALENDAR.
~
Someone asked a reasonable question, “Are we going to be changing our culture to conform to another?” To which I responded, “Do you really think I would allow that to happen?” He smiled confirming he understood.
~
First there is truth. It is scientific reality. Yet science is not aware of all the mechanics of nature, so it is better to say truth is Natural Law.
~
The Laws of Nature exist and are valid, even if science has not yet discovered them. When a new Law of Nature is discovered by scientists, new technologies arise based upon that science.
~
The Veda is Nature. All Laws of Nature are contained within the Veda. In ancient times, Knowledge of Veda brought forth technologies of which modern day science is not aware. Ancient Vedic knowledge emerged from a very different approach to gaining knowledge of truth, every bit as valid as our modern day science. Pundits from India have kept ancient Vedic knowledge and technology lively throughout the generations. That technology offers humanity many benefits.
~
Then we come to the matter of culture and cultural integrity. The ways of a culture vary from one part of the world to another. The traditions and ways of a culture support life by providing a structure that is in harmony with the area. The more evolved the culture, the more fully this is so. In lesser evolved times, disharmony with nature arises within the people and thus cultures.
~
It is the place of religion to be an interface between cultural tradition and Natural Law. Each culture has a religion that when healthy does exactly that. Each religion should be a bridge between a unique culture and Universal Truth.
~
My intent is to assist every culture to align with Natural Law, to breath in new life and more cultural integrity, thereby healing all of humanity and our planet as a whole.
~
This is the only way to truly heal our world, and that process starts with individuals, then expands through communities to nations. To whitewash the world by turning every culture into one homogenous global culture would be to compromise life.
~
We must align with knowledge, wherever we find it. Vedic technology offers us a powerful means to do this and we use that technology to heal our world. It is universal, just as modern day science is universal.
~
It would be contrary to our purpose to turn westerners into easterners, or visa versa. We must strengthen each culture, not dilute or whitewash them. Yet cultures must interact and learn to live in harmony with one and other.
~
How else can there be peace and mutual support among people?
